Lead Server & Storage Analyst (Infrastructure)

Radstock / Livingston (Hybrid – typically 1 day onsite, usually Wednesday)

Up to £55,000 + Benefits

A growing, technology-driven organisation is looking to hire an experienced Lead Server & Storage Analyst to support and evolve its core infrastructure estate, with a strong focus on storage, virtualisation, and platform resilience.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in managing and enhancing a complex, multi‑site server and storage environment, ensuring performance, scalability, and security across the estate.

There is a strong focus on enterprise storage, virtualisation platforms, and disaster recovery, alongside ongoing work to modernise and future‑prove infrastructure.

You’ll also be involved in driving technology forward, contributing to new solutions, improvements, and infrastructure strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support enterprise storage platforms (SAN / NAS)
  • Own and optimise backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Support and enhance virtualisation platforms (VMware / Proxmox)
  • Administer Windows and Linux server environments
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and capacity planning across infrastructure
  • Work closely with third‑party vendors and internal teams
  • Contribute to infrastructure design, upgrades, and modernisation projects
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational best practice across the estate

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in a 3rd Line / Senior Infrastructure or Server Engineering role
  • Proven experience managing enterprise storage environments
  • Strong knowledge of virtualisation technologies (VMware, vSphere, vCentre, Proxmox)
  • Experience with Windows Server, Linux, and core Wintel services (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)
  • Strong understanding of backup, clustering, and disaster recovery principles
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / Azure)

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with converged or hyper‑converged infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Cyber Essentials Plus / ISO27001 standards
  • Experience supporting infrastructure transformation or modernisation projects
