Humanities Teacher / Humanities ECT – History, RE & Geography
An ‘Outstanding’ secondary school in Lewisham seeks a full time and permanent post starting September 2026. You will join a department that includes experienced teachers, teachers from Teach First, and teaching assistants supporting KS3‑5.
Job Description
- Inspire and motivate students across KS3, KS4 and KS5 in History, Religious Education and Geography.
- Work as part of the Humanities teaching team and support pupils to achieve high attainment.
- Take on Teaching Leadership and Responsibility (TLR) opportunities such as KS3 & KS4 Coordinator or pastoral duties.
- Receive 1:1 mentoring, bespoke ECT induction, in‑house training and ongoing support.
- Full‑time, permanent role with a salary range of £39,480 – £57,571 plus TLR bonus, dependent on experience.
- Monday to Friday, with typical school hours as per the national timetable.
Person Specification
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or in the process of attaining QTS.
- Strong academic record (degree, A Levels, GCSEs).
- Meeting AT 8 (Teaching Standards) at ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ level.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of Humanities teachers.
- Openness to feedback and continuous professional development.
