Overview

Project Manager – Civil Engineering based in Crawley for a Regional Civil Engineering Contractor. Manage a variety of Civil Engineering schemes across the UK with values up to £30m. You will be part of the management team, reporting to the Regional Director and overseeing site teams including Agents, Sub Agents, Engineers, Foremen and Sub Contractors.

Responsibilities

  • To profitably complete projects in accordance with the client’s specifications and to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Plan resources and resolve shortfalls or over-re sourcing issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinate and manage interfaces with other parts of the division.
  • Ensure all personnel under your control, including subcontractors, work in accordance with company policies, are trained, competent, aware, and work safely.
  • Jointly prepare project Cost Value Reports & Contract Status Reports with commercial staff.
  • Liaise with estimating to provide value engineering expertise and lessons learnt to allow the division to submit quality, competitive tenders.
  • Deliver project schemes profitably and on time to enhance the company’s reputation and pursue further business opportunities.
  • Assist in recognising new client targets and develop approaches with the Commercial Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must have extensive experience operating at PM level on civil engineering schemes.
  • Previous experience of civil, earthworks, highways/roads, and design-and-build projects.
  • Degree qualified and able to manage a project team.

Salary, Location & Benefits

Salary: £60k – £70k + package. Location: Crawley. Regions: Kent, South East, Surrey, Sussex. Comprehensive package including a car or allowance, pension and 25 days holiday.
