Assistant Manager – Pensions Consolidation Solutions
As part of this role you’ll be working in Isio’s Actuarial & Consulting team, consisting of over 400 pensions consultants and actuaries advising a diverse range of clients and stakeholders across the private, public and not‑for‑profit sectors.
We advise on everything from helping trustees and sponsors to manage their defined benefit plans, running large scale communications projects and implementing alternative reward and pension provision. The range of work we get involved with is vast and there’ll be opportunities for you to gain lots of great, new experiences and put your skills to the test.
This role will be as part of the Enplan Team – Enplan is one of the fastest growing DB Pension consolidators in the market. The team are currently managing over 60 pension schemes of different shapes and sizes and continue to regularly attract new schemes.

What does the role entail?
- Responsible for the delivery of client work to the Scheme Actuary or senior colleague – including managing timescales, stakeholders and budgets.
- Supporting delivery of actuarial advice to Entrust – this may include managing key client projects directly, or with support.
- Involved in the technical aspects of projects, and building relationships with Entrust and the scheme sponsors directly, working as part of a team and developing those around you.
Enplan schemes vary significantly in size, therefore in your role, you will have numerous opportunities to engage and consult with schemes varying in asset size from as little as £1m to over £200m.
Where is the role
The schemes within Enplan are serviced by a dedicated team within Isio with hubs based in Manchester and Scotland. Our Scotland hub has ten people supporting the proposition, including two Scheme Actuaries. The Scotland and Manchester hubs work closely together with a total team size of around 40 people.
We work on a hybrid basis, offering the opportunity for colleagues to split their working time between working in the office and at home, it is expected that on average you will be in the office three days a week.
What we’re looking for
- Experience – a nearly qualified actuary FIA/FFA or equivalent with relevant industry experience.
- A great communicator – someone who can explain complex problems in a simple way to help everyone around the table understand.
- Enthusiasm and motivation – a great deal of desire to solving problems and delivering excellent advice.
- Excellent project management and client delivery skills – especially when balancing multiple demands.
- A great team worker – this will either be as part of a team, or managing a team, depending on your experience.
- Commercial skills – to help us develop our business and look for new opportunities.
