Sales Manager – AI-Powered Energy Trading Software – Based from anywhere in Europe

Bleeding edge, European headquartered, AI-powered financial alpha engine for energy traders software business seeks an experienced Energy Trading Sales Executive / Manager (hunter).

You’ll be based from anywhere in Europe, so this is a remotely based role with regular travel to meet clients across Europe, but ideally you’ll be based from a city with a strong concentration of energy trading clients (London, Geneva, Zurich etc).

You’ll join a business that does not use off-the-shelf Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT-4 to do its core modelling, instead it has built a custom, end-to-end AI technology stack tailored specifically for physical AI, atmospheric data, and energy workflows. This AI software allows their clients to use real-time, AI-driven energy trading predictions to maximize market profits and prevent renewable energy grid penalties, effectively replacing the client Trading Analysts.

Salary: Open depending on the right person, but circa £100-130k (London) / CHF 150-200k basic (Geneva / Zurich) or equivalent in other European cities + 100% OTE in year one and more in year 2.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven energy trading software sales manager (hunter) keen to join a very modern, cutting edge and rapidly growing AI-driven software business. You could be working for a small energy trading software business or a large energy trading software business, but you will need to build the brand instead of just relying on an existing market leading brand.

This is very much a new business sales hunter role, focused on signing new logos. Although only founded 5 years ago, they have already signed multiple oil & gas majors, major utilities and commodity trading businesses in Europe and North America, so have a fantastic product to sell and hundreds of happy clients as case studies.

Key skills and experience sought:

  • Several years working as a successful Energy Trading Sales Executive / Manager with a strong track record working as a sales “hunter” managing full end-to-end deals, including closing your own deals.
  • You’ll have worked with your own personal “sales quota” and have a track record of hitting and exceeding your target selling enterprise software into energy trading clients in Europe.
  • A previous network of European energy trading clients would be useful, but more important is your understanding of the energy trading market and ability to speak with decision makers working for energy trading businesses, selling them the value proposition that my client’s software will offer them.
  • Bright, degree educated
