Job Summary

Are you an experienced Class 1 driver looking for a change? We have a full‑time, permanent position at GXO Logistics for a Class 1 driver.

Location and Working Hours

Work in Blackburn (BB2 7FS). Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week, start time 07:00 to 16:30.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and deliver small to large high‑value consignments that require special handling conditions.
  • Transport assets for our aerospace customer within the UK and Europe when required.
  • Carry out inter‑site and intra‑site deliveries and collections across the Northwest, with occasional nationwide and international work including regular nights away from home.
  • Work as part of a double‑manned driving team.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service, consistently meeting customer expectations.
  • Accurately complete and return all required documentation at the end of each shift.
  • Comply fully with driving hours regulations, legislation, and company policies.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid Class 1 licence with full DCPC qualification and an in‑date passport.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and a responsible, reliable, and professional attitude.
  • Be flexible with working hours, including overtime, nights out, weekends and international work in line with WTD/EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations.
  • Have multi‑drop, deliveries or collections experience (desirable).
  • No more than 6 current penalty points and no recent convictions or disqualifications.
  • Success in a personal security clearance (National Security Requirements).
