Team Teach Trained SEMH Teaching Assistant – Specialist School

Wickford, Essex

Start: September 2026

Long-term contract with potential for permanent placement after successful probation.

Hours: 8:30 am‑3:30 pm (Monday‑Friday)

Responsibilities

• Build secure relationships with children & young people.
• Understand the specific needs of children, especially those with trauma.
• Support pupils with social and emotional needs.
• Work 1:1 with pupils.

Qualifications

• Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
• Previous experience working with children or adults in a caring capacity.
• Desirable experience: care work, PRU, SEMH experience.
