Consultant Ophthalmologist Medical Retina and Uveitis

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated Medical Retina Ophthalmology service across Hinchingbrooke, Stamford and Peterborough hospitals.
• Provide MR outpatient clinics and theatre sessions.
• Coordinate and contribute to the training of medical staff, hospital‑based optometrists and orthoptic staff within the NWAFT MR service.
• Manage day‑to‑day operations of clinics, ensuring coverage during absences.
• Advise and support clinicians in other services during shared‑care episodes involving patients with multiple ocular problems.
• Provide any additional subspecialty skills that enhance the service; additional cataract operating sessions will be available based on operating experience.
