Assistant Psychologist | Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust
We are looking for an enthusiastic and keen assistant psychologist to join us at Rivington Unit as part of the psychological offer to our acute psychiatric inpatient wards. The role centres on delivering low‑intensity psychological interventions and supporting multidisciplinary care for patients with significant mental health difficulties.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and independently run psychologically informed group interventions on the wards
- Deliver individual low‑intensity psychological interventions, including creative engagement with clients having complex relational and risk‑related needs
- Provide clinically supervised assessments/reviews/consultations by administering self‑report measures, rating scales, neuropsychological tests, and semi‑structured interviews with clients, families, and other teams
- Document clinical records in accordance with Trust policy and contribute to report and letter writing
- Contribute to multidisciplinary ward meetings, liaison with families/carers, other staff, and agencies
- Assist in planning appropriate psychological interventions based on assessment findings
