Field Service Engineer – Midlands
Salary: £42,500 Base, 70K OTE | Day Shifts | Permanent
Overview
We are seeking a skilled, mechanically‑biased Field Service Engineer to join our growing engineering team, covering customer sites across the Midlands area. This role is ideal for a mechanical engineer with a strong industrial background, particularly within environments such as print, paper, food, plastics, pharmaceutical, injection moulding, or similar manufacturing sectors. Experience in distribution or recycling is highly desirable, though strong engineers from other regulated or industrial environments are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
The role will require travelling to customer sites across the Midlands area, carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on an array of automated machinery. The base salary is for core hours, but the nature of the role will require regular overtime; the realistic OTE is around £70k. All travel and expenses are paid.
Qualifications
- Mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment
- Mechanical fault‑finding experience
- Engineering qualification (Mechanical)
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience as a Maintenance or Service Engineer in the UK
- Willingness to travel and occasionally stay away from home
