We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our successful and forward‑thinking primary school. This is a fixed‑term, full‑time position starting on 1st September 2026. Applications for part‑time working will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Providing academic and pastoral support to pupils on an individual basis
- Supporting inclusion and engagement in the classroom
- Working closely with class teachers and the wider school team
- Helping children to develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
- Supporting children in their social engagement and play
Qualifications and skills
- Has experience supporting children with SEND and a good understanding of a range of additional needs
- Is patient, nurturing and adaptable
- Is able to use their initiative and respond positively to the individual needs of children
- Has a strong understanding of child development and knows how to engage and motivate children in their learning
- Can build positive relationships with children, staff and families
- Is committed to helping every child achieve their potential
Alderley Edge Primary School offers excellent opportunities for peer learning and ongoing professional growth.
Working hours: 8:15 am – 3:15 pm, term time only. There may also be opportunities for additional paid work before and after school.
