Groundworker Apprentice – AWE

Position

Groundworker Apprentice – Location: AWE Projects, Reading. Contract: Full time/permanent. Start date: September 2026.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Preparing and levelling construction sites.
• Laying foundations, drainage systems, and concrete.
• Operating and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Following health and safety protocols on‑site.
• Working as part of a team to complete a variety of groundwork tasks.

What You’ll Need

Academic requirements

• GCSE Maths and English grade 5 or above desirable; opportunity to improve during apprenticeship.
• Must not already hold a similar qualification of the same level.

Additional requirements

• Valid driving licence desirable, or willingness to obtain one during apprenticeship.
• Willingness to relocate for projects; living away allowance and travel expenses paid.
