Overview

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Craft Team Member to join our Cranes & Lifting Department at our Llanwern site. This practical, hands‑on role involves maintaining lifting equipment to keep it safe, reliable and operational in a busy, safety‑focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, fault‑finding and repair tasks to a high standard.
• Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all tasks comply with risk assessments and safety procedures.
• Support the team leader in planning work, coordinating resources and maintaining accurate records in SAP.
• Deliver on‑the‑job training and coaching to other team members.
• Deputise for the Area Team Leader when required, developing leadership skills.

Required Qualifications

• Time‑served Mechanical apprenticeship.
• Experience working on lifting equipment and familiarity with PUWER/LOLER regulations.
• Ability to work at height and in a safety‑critical environment.
• Clear communication skills and willingness to lead and support others.
• Basic IT skills and experience managing maintenance activity.

Desired (Nice‑to‑have) Skills

• Familiarity with SAP or similar systems.
• Experience with EOT crane maintenance.
• Track record of continuous improvement.
