Job Summary

Hours of work: 35 per week. Working pattern: Full‑time, term‑time only (35 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years’ continuous service). Salary is pro‑rata. Fixed term: length of time determined by the child’s needs. Start date: 1 September 2026.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support for a bright, young girl joining the Reception class who is visually impaired. Guide and partner in the classroom, helping her navigate the curriculum and the school environment, fostering independence. Collaborate closely with class teachers, external experts and all stakeholders.

  • Musical heart; enjoy using melody, rhythm and song as tools for engagement.
  • Patience and empathy; natural ability to build trust and encourage a young learner.
  • Collaborative spirit; work closely with teachers, external experts and stakeholders.

All Saints CE Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. The post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018. The school will ensure that the candidate is not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations by completing a self‑declaration form as part of the pre‑employment checks process. If a preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
