Teaching Assistant – SEND (Brookhaven)

Brookhaven is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work with SEND pupils in our specialist school.

Key Responsibilities

• Work under the instruction/guidance of teaching staff to undertake work, care and support programmes.
• Enable access to learning for pupils.
• Assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.

Required Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistant (or recognised equivalent qualification or experience).
• Some experience of working with children with SEND.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to promote a positive ethos and act as a positive role model.
• Good interpersonal, numeracy and literacy skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures and ability to promote the welfare and safety of children.

Pay and Hours

Actual salary: £22,471 – £24,755.

Working hours: 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days of In-Service Education and Training (INSET).
