Position: SEND Coordinator (SENDCo)
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SENDCo to join our vibrant Primary School. You will lead our SEND provision across the school, ensuring that all pupils with additional needs receive the highest quality provision to achieve their full potential. You will play a crucial role in the school’s Senior Leadership Team and manage the school’s DLD Resource Base and internal Resource Base.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the SEND provision across the school.
- Work collaboratively as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, continually reflecting, evaluating and improving practices across the school.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff and external agencies to implement effective strategies and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements.
- Develop and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Provide training and guidance to staff on inclusive practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) and ideally the National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it).
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice.
- Excellent team player, hard working and puts children first.
- Proactive with a commitment to inclusion for every child.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
