Data Solution Architect

Responsibilities

• Hands on Solution Architect with strong expertise in Kafka / Confluent Kafka, MongoDB, AWS, APIs, and Operational Data Stores (ODS) — able to operate confidently across both high level architecture and low level design and implementation.
• Must bring immediate productivity with no learning curve — prior demonstrable experience designing and delivering solutions in streaming and ODS environments is essential.
• Expected to design, build, and validate end to end solutions, not just provide architectural oversight.
• Able to drive PoCs, prototypes, solution demos, and hands on technical spikes, ensuring architecture decisions are validated in practice.
• Comfortable switching between conceptual architecture, detailed solution design, and implementation guidance for engineering teams.
• Contribute to and support architecture governance processes:
  • standards compliance
  • approval board submissions
  • adherence to patterns and guardrails
• Ensure decisions align with organisational guidelines and help uphold the architectural integrity of the corporate streaming & ODS pillar.
• Strong communicator who can confidently engage with senior stakeholders, engineering teams, and cross functional partners due to the high visibility of the role within the bank.
• Expected to operate autonomously, managing expectations, articulating design rationale, and ensuring alignment across teams.
