The Governors of St Hilda’s are seeking to appoint an outstanding, compassionate and highly motivated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This rewarding role will involve providing whole class support, supporting small groups and support for pupils with additional needs.
We are looking for a nurturing and resilient individual who is passionate about making a meaningful difference to children’s lives. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development, helping them to feel safe, regulated, supported, and able to succeed.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting whole class teaching
- Providing consistent, tailored support for individual pupils and small groups
- Supporting pupils emotional regulation and wellbeing throughout the school day
- Implementing trauma-informed and restorative approaches to promote positive behaviour
- Working closely with teaching staff, SENCo, and external professionals
- Encouraging engagement, independence, and confidence in learning
Training and experience
- Trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches
- Supporting children who experience challenges in:
- Communication and interaction
- Social and emotional wellbeing
- Concentration and engagement
- Emotional dysregulation
- Adverse Childhood experience
- Supporting children with ADHD and Autism
Applicants should have
- Excellent behaviour management skills, including the use of positive reinforcement and constructive feedback
- Good English, Maths and IT skills
- Ability to work with children at all levels regardless of specific individual need
- Knowledge of primary education
