Therapeutic Support Worker – Full Training (SSTSWN) Newark, England
Full‑time position for a Residential Support Worker to support vulnerable young people aged 5‑18 who have experienced severe childhood trauma linked to exploitation, neglect, domestic violence and abuse. The role involves helping them understand their trauma and rebuild a positive view of the world.
Responsibilities
- Provide emotional and therapeutic support to young people within a residential community.
- Assist in understanding and processing trauma experiences.
- Manage 24‑hour shift rotations, including overnight sleep‑ins and alternate weekends.
- Ensure safe handover between shifts and support bedtime routines.
- Maintain a supportive and compassionate environment for all residents.
Qualifications
- Passion for working with vulnerable children and a 100% commitment to the role.
- Flexibility to work long hours, weekends, sleep in shifts and stay later when necessary.
- Open, honest, self‑reflective personality who can understand personal life struggles and compartmentalise.
- Some experience working with young people is beneficial.
- Willingness to commit to a serious career path with high levels of self‑sacrifice for the young people’s wellbeing.
Salary & Contract
£32,908 per annum on a 39 hour contract, including two sleep‑ins per week.
