Starting salary: SC6 (£35,520 – £36,585)Work location: Conway Road, London, N15 3BB (3 bedroom short breaks home)

About The Role

As a Short Breaks Support Worker at Conway House, you will provide high‑quality, person‑centred care and support to children and young people aged 8–18 with a range of additional needs. You will help deliver meaningful day and overnight short breaks, offering families vital support while ensuring children are safe, engaged and supported to thrive. The role is hands‑on and varied, involving delivering personal care, supporting communication, behaviour and wellbeing, and planning activities that build skills, independence and confidence. You will work flexibly across shifts, including evenings, waking nights and weekends, contributing to a warm, inclusive and child‑centred environment.

About The Team

You will be part of a supportive, friendly and dedicated team who are passionate about delivering high‑quality short breaks for children with additional needs. The team works closely together to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment, where children can enjoy their stay and families feel confident in the care provided. At Conway House, we value teamwork, respect and open communication. Staff support each other on shift, share knowledge and experiences, and work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for children. We are committed to ongoing learning and development, and provide regular training, supervision and opportunities to build your skills and confidence in the role.

About You

You will be a compassionate, patient and resilient individual with experience supporting children or young people with SEND or complex needs. You will have a strong understanding of safeguarding, child‑centred practice and behaviour support, and be confident delivering personal care and working with a range of communication methods. A strong team player, you are organised, adaptable and able to remain calm under pressure, with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for making a difference. You will also be committed to ongoing learning and development, with a willingness to undertake relevant training and qualifications where required.
