HGV Class 1 Driver

Job Description

MKD Recruit are seeking experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join a growing business that has 3 sites: Wimblington, March, Wisbech.

If you have at least 6 months experience of driving Class 1 HGV and are looking for a well‑paid and long‑term/ongoing opportunity, delivering products on a curtain sider across the country.

This full‑time role runs Monday‑Friday with multiple start times; optional Saturdays are available. Start times are flexible to suit drivers’ preferences, as the client operates over 150 vehicles across its three sites.

Responsibilities

• Operate a curtain sided HGV Class 1
• Plan routes effectively while adhering to legal driving hours
• Load and unload pallets safely, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections
• Communicate with traffic office clearly and professionally

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 driving licence
• Up‑to‑date CPC and DIGI Card
• Minimum 6 months of Class 2 driving experience
• A reliable and punctual work ethic
• A maximum of 6 points (must NOT include IN10, DD, DR or DG)
