Role Summary

The Design Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping high‑performance workplaces, science & technology environments, and education spaces across global markets. This role bridges strategy, creativity, and technical delivery—ensuring that every design solution reflects our commitment to human‑centred environments, research‑driven insights, and seamless integration with construction teams.

You will lead multidisciplinary designers, collaborate with strategists and project managers, and guide clients through a transformative design journey that aligns with our mission: creating environments where people thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Leadership — Lead the design process from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with our strategic, aesthetic, and functional standards.
  • Client Engagement — Act as a trusted advisor, facilitating workshops, presenting design concepts, and translating client needs into actionable design strategies.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Partner with workplace strategists, construction teams, and procurement specialists to deliver integrated, borderless project outcomes.
  • Quality & Technical Oversight — Review drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and design integrity.
  • Project Coordination — Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Innovation & Research — Incorporate emerging trends in workplace, laboratory, and educational design, supporting our thought‑leadership initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Management — Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain clarity and momentum throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentorship — Support and develop designers at various levels, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Required Skills & Experience

    • Design Expertise — 4+ years in interior design, architecture, or workplace design, ideally within design‑and‑build or multidisciplinary environments.
    • Sector Knowledge — Experience in workplace, science & technology, or education projects.
    • Technical Proficiency — Strong understanding of construction methods, building regulations, and technical detailing.
    • Software Skills — Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and presentation tools.
    • Leadership & Communication — Proven ability to lead teams, manage clients, and communicate complex ideas clearly.
    • Strategic Thinking — Ability to connect design decisions to business outcomes, user experience, and organisational culture.
