About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Calibration & Compliance Engineer to join our Engineering team in Birmingham. Reporting to the Senior Plant Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement of our UK manufacturing facilities.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional with strong knowledge of calibration, preventative maintenance planning, and compliance management within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

As Calibration & Compliance Engineer, you will:Manage all manufacturing instrument and process tooling calibration activities and databasesOversee condition monitoring contracts and maintain associated systemsCoordinate insurance inspection schedules and ensure certification complianceEnsure full compliance with internal and external PPM and calibration auditsDevelop and improve calibration and condition monitoring programmesLiaise with insurers and external contractors regarding legislative inspectionsEstablish and report on KPIs to monitor engineering performanceSupport Continuous Improvement Systems (CIS) and TPM activitiesBenchmark engineering practices across group sites and external organisationsSource materials and resources, raise purchase requisitions, and manage procurement processesEnsure all health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

Recognised qualification in Lifting Equipment InspectionExperience managing calibration compliance and PPM systemsStrong understanding of legislative and insurance compliance requirementsExcellent organisational and communication skillsHigh attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Desirable:

CMMS database management experienceBoiler operation and management knowledgeHigh Voltage Authorised Person qualificationExperience within a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment
