Are you ready to apply Make sure you understand all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this role before proceeding.We are currently looking for a HS2 Maintenance Fitter to join our friendly team based from our Great Worth plant, this role will be to work on the plants supporting a large infrastructure project and will cover 7 production sites across the Midlands and North Oxfordshire. The base site is easily accessible via most major road networks, based in the heart of the Midlands and is commutable from Birmingham, Coventry, Kenilworth, Nuneaton, Redditch, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Cannock, Tamworth, Towcester, Stratford-on-Avon, Royal Leamington Spa, Daventry, Northampton, Rugby and the surrounding areas.Were working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and its important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.The role is a DAYS role so you will be required to work Monday – Friday; with overtime available to meet with our sites needs. A company vehicle is provided for this role.Main ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Maintenance Manager, as our HS2 Maintenance Fitter you will be responsible for undertaking plant maintenance, repairs and improvements to ensure maximum reliability of all plant associated areas and to assist team members in all aspects of plant operations.Your responsibilities as the HS2 Maintenance Fitter will include:Respond to plant breakdowns, when necessary and be responsible for the correct and efficient repair of equipment keeping downtime to a minimum with timely and safe adherence to the maintenance plan whilst complying to all relevant statutory legislation and the internal company Safety, Health and Environmental standardsContinue to improve plant performance whilst maintaining safety, maintenance and asset reliabilityContribute to the in-house development of the Computer Maintenance Management SystemIn support of the maintenance and operations functions, you will utilise documents, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated guidelines for the safe and efficient maintenance of equipmentThe Ideal CandidateThe role of HS2 Maintenance Fitter is a varied, complex and rewarding position that requires:Level 3 Apprentice trained or ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering would prove highly beneficial although not essential as QBE (Qualified by Experience) is essential in this roleExperience working in the Ready-Mix Concrete industry would prove a distinct advantageHave experience of TPM methodology and Continuous ImprovementWorking knowledge of relevant engineering maintenance principles and practices, and experience of working in a relevant heavy engineering industryKnowledgeable in the area of Predictive MaintenanceExperience in working with a Computer Maintenance Management SystemExperience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniquesUnderstands database systems as relevant to planned maintenance and logging of shift activitiesAn understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics and understanding National and International codes and symbols used on drawings and specificationsWhy TarmacWe don’t just offer a job, we offer a career.Alongside this role, you’ll have access to industry-leading rewards, development opportunities, and a culture that puts people first, including:Bonus schemeEnhanced holiday entitlementContributory pension schemeAccess to the Tarmac Reward website with discounts on retailers, holidays, etc.Access to our Employee Assistance helpline for free and confidential adviceAccess to join our Employee Communities (employee networks) we currently have nine communities inc.(REACH) Religious, Ethnic, Cultural Heritage, LGBTQ+, Parents & carers, Ability, Wellbeing, Female voice and menopauseTraining and development opportunitiesTarmac is committed to being a Forces-friendly employer.If youre coming from a military background, well support your transition and help you build a successful career with us.Were proud to be part of CRH, and even prouder to be an equal opportunity employer.
