Here at GXO, we’re looking for a dynamic Account Director to lead the delivery of one of the UK’s most significant healthcare programmes, the National NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role within our Life Sciences Business Unit. Acting as the central point of contact for the NHS and key partners, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery, growth, and evolution of this nationally important service.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a new, transformative venture in healthcare logistics, working within a true 4PL model and collaborating with multiple partners, healthcare providers, and public sector stakeholders.

This is a full-time permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00, with regular travel when required. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!

We’re looking to offer a salary up to £80,000 per annum depending on experience and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Building and maintaining senior relationships with NHS England, regional hubs, and key stakeholders, acting as the trusted lead for the programme
  • Overseeing end-to-end contract delivery through multiple partners including test providers, technology integrators, and distribution providers
  • Driving performance by monitoring service delivery, ensuring KPIs and contractual obligations are consistently met
  • Leading programme implementation and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and aligned to regulatory requirements
  • Identifying growth opportunities and contributing to business strategy, including expanding services and increasing programme uptake

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Proven experience managing complex, large-scale programmes within the NHS or public sector, with an understanding of politically sensitive environments. Scientific background (e.g. Biochemistry or similar) with an understanding of screening methodologies
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels, including NHS bodies, regulators, and senior leadership teams
  • Commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing significant budgets and delivering revenue and growth targets
  • Experience operating within multi-partner or 3PL/4PL environments, coordinating across multiple suppliers and service providers
  • The ability to analyse complex data, think strategically, and drive innovation and continuous improvement
