Qualifications
- National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in pharmacy services (or currently working towards completion)
- Good GCSEs or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills, friendly, approachable, adaptable, flexible and committed to continuous professional development
- Legal right to work in the UK (UK visa sponsorship not available)
Working Hours and Conditions
This is a full‑time post requiring participation in weekend and bank holiday rota.
Responsibilities
- Use the pharmacy computer system to produce picking lists, pack drugs and deliver medicines to wards and departments
- Perform daily temperature monitoring of pharmacy areas as required by MHRA
- Assist in dispensing medicines to inpatients, outpatients, wards and departments when required
- Deputise for the Receptionist in their absence, receiving prescriptions from patients and handling prescription charges
- Receive requisitions and telephone calls from health‑care professionals
- Deal with enquiries from patients and health‑care staff and refer as necessary
- Maintain good housekeeping in the pharmacy by keeping benches and baskets clear of obsolete drugs
- Check expiry dates and rotate stock
- Unpack deliveries and put drugs away in the pharmacy and wards
