We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Production Operative / Assembly Operative to join a well-established manufacturing organisation.
Working as a Production Operative / Assembly Operative you will be responsible for assembling protective cases and rack systems, ensuring all products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
As a Production Operative / Assembly Operative you will play a key role within the production team, supporting efficient manufacturing processes while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety, accuracy, and meeting deadlines.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous production or assembly experience who enjoys hands‑on work and thrives in a fast-paced workshop environment.
DUTIES
- Product Assembly: Assemble cases and rack systems in line with drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Component Fitting: Install hardware such as handles, hinges, catches, and fixings
- Tool Operation: Use hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively
- Quality Checks: Inspect finished products for accuracy, finish, and compliance with standards
- Order Completion: Ensure all production tasks are completed on time to meet deadlines
- Defect Reporting: Identify and report faults, damaged materials, or missing components
- Packing and Dispatch: Prepare completed items for safe packaging and dispatch
- Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all procedures, use PPE, and maintain safe working practices
- Workstation Maintenance: Keep the workspace clean, organised, and safe
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and support other departments when required
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment
- Ability to use hand tools and follow technical drawings or instructions
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Ability to work to targets and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Reliable with strong timekeeping and attendance
DESIRABLE
- Experience assembling engineered products such as cases or racks
- Familiarity with basic power tools including drills, rivet guns, and drivers
- Experience working within quality-controlled or ISO environments
- A practical, hands‑on approach with a positive attitude
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
