About The Role

Teaching Assistant / TA3

Location: Hastings

Start date: September 2026

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 30.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: £24,795.00, pro rata; actual salary: £17,921.32 (TTO)

Pension: Local Government Pension Scheme

The role involves helping to implement work programmes for groups of children, assisting in planning and preparing resources, and providing cover for whole classes under a system of supervision for 30% of the employed time throughout the school year and lunchtime cover.

Responsibilities

  • Implement work programmes for groups of children.
  • Assist in planning and management/preparation of resources, including specialist knowledge where required.
  • Provide cover for whole classes under a system of supervision for 30% of the employed time and for lunchtime cover.

Qualifications

  • Have experience of working with primary aged children.
  • Have good literacy and mathematical skills.
  • Be hard working and adaptable to change.
  • Ideally have a secure understanding and knowledge of observing children’s learning.
