Refuse Driver (Garden Waste)

Responsibilities

• Drive a refuse vehicle to collect household, industrial, and commercial waste from a variety of locations such as domestic properties, schools, highway maintained sites, and shops.
• Assist in loading the vehicle when not driving, working as part of the operating team with a hands‑on approach to ensure effective delivery of day‑to‑day waste service collections.
• Use the Bartec collective system for refuse schedules.
• Work overtime or weekends as required, including Saturdays, bank/public holidays, and between Christmas and the New Year, with appropriate enhancement paid.

Qualifications

• Refuse collection experience (training can be provided where necessary).
• Initiative, strong communication skills, and good customer care skills.
• Full driving licence with entitlement to drive LGV Class C vehicles.
• Local knowledge of the Carnaby Depot and surrounding East Riding areas is useful.
