Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our experienced Head & Neck Co‑ordination Team based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. The role is to support the provision of high‑quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support and continuous improvement. The successful applicant will occasionally cross‑site work at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
This is a Band 3 position, 22.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate advanced communication and organisational skills, using initiative and problem‑solving ability.
- Maintain excellent attention to detail and a passion for patient care.
- Ensure efficient and effective use of theatre and endoscopy sessions.
- Play a central role within this service and work in close liaison with NHS colleagues, patients and the general public.
- Manage waiting lists in accordance with the Patient Access Policy and achieve government waiting time standards.
- Be responsible for the addition and removal from waiting lists and for recording all relevant patient information in response to clinician, patient or management requests.
- Monitor the Patient Target List (PTL) daily to ensure government access standards are not breached; raise any potential breaches and take appropriate action to resolve capacity issues, escalating as needed to the Assistant Operations Manager.
- Manage waiting lists for patients on the cancer pathway who require endoscopy procedures and/or further surveillance appointments.
Full training and ongoing support will be provided to enable the post holder to achieve their full potential and to act as the primary point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues related to patient pathways from referral to treatment and discharge.
