SEN Teacher – Wood Green, North London

Specialist SEN School Full-Time Long-Term Contract

£200 – £275 per day Immediate or September Start

Are you an SEN Teacher looking to make a real difference within a specialist setting?

A well-established all-through SEN school in Wood Green is seeking a dedicated and adaptable SEN Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work with pupils across a range of ages, supporting those with autism, SEMH and complex learning needs in a structured and supportive environment.

The school takes a child-centred approach, focusing on communication, emotional regulation and independence alongside academic development. You will play a key role in delivering engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual needs, helping pupils build confidence and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across the curriculum (flexible depending on experience and phase)
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils with SEND and SEMH
  • Create a positive, structured classroom environment that supports behaviour and engagement
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and therapists to deliver a collaborative approach
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, ensuring alignment with EHCP outcomes
  • Implement behaviour strategies that support emotional regulation
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, families and external professionals

We are looking for someone who

  • Holds QTS or equivalent
  • Has experience teaching within SEN, primary or secondary settings
  • Has experience with SEND/SEMH or is confident working in a specialist environment
  • Is confident managing behaviour using a calm, consistent approach
  • Is flexible, proactive and committed to inclusive education
  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills
