Children’s Residential Support Worker

Location: ChesterfieldSalary: Circa £32,000 per year (including sleep‑ins)Shifts: 15‑hour shifts on a rota basis (including weekends)
The Role
As a Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in providing a safe, nurturing and structured environment for children and young people, supporting their day‑to‑day needs and development.
- Supporting young people with daily routines, activities and personal development
- Promoting independence, life skills and positive behaviours
- Encouraging engagement in community activities such as sports, outings and social events
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at all times
- Completing accurate records, reports and care documentation
- Working collaboratively with families, professionals and external agencies
- Supporting with household tasks including cooking and maintaining a safe environment
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People or Level 3 in Residential Childcare
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Good understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted standards
