About the Service
Aberavon Hospital provides rehabilitation and recovery for people with complex, severe and enduring mental health challenges. Referrals are accepted from medium/low secure hospitals, PICU, acute admissions and the Criminal Justice System. Patients will be detained under the Mental Health Act 1983.
Rushcliffe Aberavon is an 18‑bedded locked rehabilitation unit for males aged 18 to 65 with a primary diagnosis of mental illness or personality disorder, who would benefit from the treatment offered within a locked rehabilitation service.
Patients may also have learning disabilities, challenging behaviour or substance misuse, may have disengaged and failed to maintain contact with treatment services in the past, or would benefit from support in planning to live independently in the community.
What We Offer
- A structured induction and ongoing clinical support to ensure you are confident and effective in your role.
- Supervision, training, and opportunities to develop within a growing service, including progression into leadership roles.
- An environment where standards, culture, and practice are being actively shaped, giving you the opportunity to contribute and influence how the service develops.
All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which is covered by Rushcliffe Care.

Rushcliffe Care Group is committed to being an equal opportunities employer. We value diversity and are dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect, in line with the Equality Act 2010. We encourage applications from all sections of the community, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. Employment decisions are based on individual merit, qualifications, and the needs of the service. Some roles may have specific requirements, such as physical ability or effective communication in English, due to the nature of the care we provide.
