About the Role
We are looking for passionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team in providing a safe, warm, and caring environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and autism. In this role, you will:
- Foster a respectful culture and ethos within the home.
- Support young people in their personal growth and development through varied and stimulating daily activities.
- Manage challenging behaviours effectively and with empathy.
- Promote education, independence, and daily living skills.
- Undertake key‑worker responsibilities and support individualised care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with organisational and Ofsted standards.
- Stay informed about relevant legislation and policies.
This role involves shift work, including weekends and sleep‑ins. Further details regarding shift patterns will be discussed during the interview.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a stable, nurturing environment for children and young people.
- Promote the health, education, and overall well‑being of the young people in your care.
- Prepare young people for independent living by encouraging daily skills and confidence.
- Collaborate with a team to deliver high‑quality care in line with organisational values.
Requirements
Essential
- Must be a UK resident or have the right to work in the UK (proof required).
- GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience working with children/young people.
- Computer literate.
- Commitment to completing a Level 4 Diploma in residential childcare (if not already obtained) within two years of service.
- Willingness to comply with safer recruitment policies, including pre‑employment checks, satisfactory references, and enhanced DBS clearance.
Desirable
- Level 3 Diploma in residential childcare or above.
- Full UK driving licence.
