Apprentice Supervisor – Farmfoods, Pontypridd

Overview

We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Supervisor for our shop in Pontypridd. This is a permanent full‑time position with a variety of shifts, 5 days a week.

What does the apprenticeship involve?

• Working in a busy shop and learning how to be a great supervisor.
• Regular pre‑arranged visits from an assessor from our apprenticeship provider via Microsoft Teams video call.
• Regular completion of apprenticeship coursework.
• Completion of essential skills in Communication and Maths (if applicable).
• Completion of an assessment at the end of your 12 months of training.

Pay, working hours and benefits

• Hours: 35 hours across 5 days per week.
• Pay: £13.61 per hour (minimum weekly pay £476).
• Benefits: 6 weeks holiday, 15% staff discount, staff benefits package (including a virtual GP, cinema tickets, gym memberships, days out and travel).
• A Retail Skills (Management) Level 3 qualification.

Responsibilities

• Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile.
• Help customers find the items they are looking for.
• Provide fast and friendly service at the tills, offering help to pack and leaving a good impression.
• Handle stock with care, assisting with deliveries and placing products into freezers and shelves.
• Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop clean and tidy.
• Open and close the shop, handle cash, place orders and support the manager in leading the team to run an efficient shop and provide great service.

Qualifications and requirements

• A friendly, positive, hardworking approach to work.
• Enjoy working in a busy environment and be willing to take on various tasks.
• Reliability and ability to be a key member of a small team.
• Flexibility with shift changes to cover for teammates as needed.
• Ensure timely completion of all tasks set by the apprenticeship provider.
• Pass an Employment Verification check and a Basic DBS (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check if offered the position.
