Job Description:

As the Lead Solution Architect you will be a pivotal leader in establishing and evolving architectural standards, principles, and practices that shape the future of delivery. You will lead a high-performing team of Solution Architects, guiding them to design scalable, secure, and effective solutions that align with the organisation’s strategic digital transformation goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead and mentor a team of Solution Architects, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement while defining the long-term architectural roadmap.
  • Architectural Governance: Establish and maintain standards, principles, and frameworks for the Solution Architecture function, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, data strategy, and security policies.
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with Product and Technical teams to identify solution options for complex business challenges, applying structured analysis to recommend approaches to senior stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, translating complex architectural concepts into business-relevant insights and facilitating workshops to align on solution direction.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive the adoption of cloud-native architectures, promote the reuse of patterns, and explore emerging technologies to enhance delivery efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree in Computing or equivalent professional experience/accreditation (e.g., BCS, TOGAF).
  • Proven experience leading architectural teams in complex, multi-domain environments.
  • Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, integration patterns, and modern delivery models like Agile.
  • Exceptional ability to manage and articulate logical and domain-level data models.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance commercial priorities with technical excellence.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience within the education or assessment technology sector.
  • Experience with enterprise-scale data strategy and governance frameworks.
