Job Description:

Male Support Worker (Part‑time) – 20 hours per week on a Thursday/Friday in Cringleford, Norfolk, East Anglia. Pay: £12.50 per hour.

About the Role

You will work on behalf of HomeCareDirect to provide reliable, person‑centred support within a client’s home. The role involves assisting with daily chores, general housework, cooking, and accompanying the client to community activities and appointments. No personal care is required except temporary assistance during/after a seizure.

Client & Duties

The client is a quiet gentleman who enjoys sports, gaming, reading, and crime programmes. You will motivate him with daily activities, hobby participation and provide companionship. Comfort around dogs is required, as the family has an energetic cockapoo.

Training and Support

All training must be completed before the start date and will be paid at minimum wage.

Requirements

  • Exempt from The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1 – genuine occupational requirement to recruit male support workers only.
  • Previous experience working in mental health.
  • Comfortable working around a dog.
  • Commitment to long‑term, person‑centred care.
  • Reliability, compassion and respect for confidentiality.
