Job Summary

A part‑time Senior Healthcare Support Worker position within the Emergency Care Unit, comprising three 8 hour 45 minute shifts per week, varying between early, late and twilight schedules. The role is primarily based in the Paediatric Assessment Unit, with occasional rotation into the Paediatric Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe and effective family‑centred care under pressure.
  • Work within the Emergency Care Unit’s multidisciplinary team.
  • Rotate between the Paediatric Emergency Department and the Paediatric Assessment Unit as required.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families and the general public from birth onwards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a paediatric healthcare setting or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients and families across a wide age range.
  • Ability to work under pressure and provide high quality care in an emergency environment.
  • Motivation to learn and develop professionally.
