Year 1 Teaching Assistant – Burnley Area
Location: Burnley, BB10.This role involves working within a Year 1 class, supporting the development and learning of young children. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about helping children achieve their full potential and ready to start as soon as possible.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing the classroom environment, setting up necessary materials and equipment.
- Support the teacher in delivering educational activities and engaging students in learning.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
- Provide individual support to students, tailored to their educational needs and personal development.
- Assist with the supervision of students during non‑classroom times, including lunch and recess.
- Participate in and support school events and activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to the teacher and parents as required.
Required skills & qualifications:
- Must hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience working with Year 1 students or in a primary school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the educational needs and welfare of young children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of a classroom teacher.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
This position is part‑time, term time only. The salary quoted is full‑time equivalent and will be paid on a pro‑rata basis.
