Tesco Shift Lead pay starts at £15.59 per hour, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, though roles from 12 hours are also available. Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows shown, with at least 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. Responsibilities

  • Lead the team to deliver a great experience for customers in‑store.
  • Work across all areas of the store and with all colleagues, being the go‑to person for day‑to‑day operational queries.
  • Build positive, inclusive relationships that help colleagues perform at their best.
  • Confidently lead the store in the Manager’s absence.
  • Make balanced, flexible decisions and adapt well to change.
  • Coach colleagues, give feedback and role‑model great service.
  • Stay curious and seek opportunities to serve our customers, communities, and the planet a little better every day.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast‑paced retail environment.
  • Strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer’s needs are met.
  • Build positive, long‑lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.
  • Clear communicator using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
  • Natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.
