We’re looking for a Tool Hire Checker & Driver to join our depot team in Leeds. This is a varied, hands‑on role combining driving, tool checking, customer service and workshop support. You’ll play a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly by ensuring tools are ready for hire and delivered safely and efficiently to our customers. No two days are the same – you’ll be out on the road making deliveries, supporting the workshop, and helping customers both in person and over the phone.

What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering and collecting tools safely using a 3.5 tonne vehicle
  • Managing multi‑drop delivery routes efficiently
  • Loading and unloading equipment safely and securely
  • Checking tools in and out, ensuring they meet safety and compliance standards
  • Identifying faults or damage and reporting or helping resolve issues
  • Supporting the workshop with general duties as required
  • Providing excellent customer service – including answering phones and handling queries
  • Keeping customers and the depot updated on delivery times and any issues
  • Maintaining vehicle checks, cleanliness and documentation

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, practical and customer‑focused, with a flexible approach to work.

Essential

  • Full UK driving licence (up to 3.5 tonnes)
  • Experience driving for work purposes
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • A hands‑on, practical approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Multi‑drop delivery experience
  • Experience in a tool hire, construction or similar environment
  • Previous workshop or mechanical experience
