Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Apprentice

Join us as a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Apprentice and take your first step into the world of policing. About the role

As a PCSO Apprentice, you’ll work alongside trainers and experienced officers to:

  • Engage with local communities to build trust and reduce crime.
  • Provide visible patrols to improve public safety.
  • Support vulnerable individuals and respond to incidents.
  • Gather intelligence and assist in investigations.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Grade E/2 or above in Maths and English.
  • Functional Skills Level 1 (or above) in Maths/English.
  • Adult Numeracy/Literacy Level 1 (or above).
  • Submit evidence of your qualifications in Maths and English Level 1; applications will not be processed without this evidence.

Salary and benefits

Salary: £27,204 to £29,859 plus 13.33 % equalisation allowance post‑training (per annum). Holiday entitlement starts at 33 days and increases to 38 days with service. After an online application, you will complete a National Sift via the College of Policing, followed by interviews and pre‑employment checks including medical, vetting and biometrics.
