Responsibilities
- Resolve payment issues quickly and support staff with credit card processing problems.
- Follow up on guest concerns to ensure satisfaction with resolved issues.
- Process all guest check‑ins: confirm reservations, assign rooms, issue and activate room keys.
- Handle all payment methods (cash, checks, debit, credit).
- Set up accurate guest accounts at check‑in, including shared accounts and tax/incident details.
- Forecast no‑shows and arrange satisfactory alternative accommodations when required.
- Block rooms on the computer system and confirm requested requirements and special requests.
- Respond to phone calls, requests, and problems, referring to the appropriate department or personnel.
- Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready for check‑in.
- Review shift logs and record necessary information in the daily report.
- Count the cash bank at the start and end of each shift, balancing receipts per accounting procedures.
- Assist with staff recruitment, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
- Report accidents, injuries, or hazardous conditions to management.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Inspect team members’ uniforms and grooming for cleanliness and professionalism.
- Anticipate guest service needs and respond proactively.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, and handle telephone calls with proper etiquette.
- Maintain positive relationships internally and externally, upholding quality standards.
- Stand, sit, and walk for long periods; move, lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
- Perform other reasonable duties as requested.
