Position Overview
We are looking for a Group Director or Senior Group Director of Digital Activation to join our dynamic and rapidly growing UK team. This pivotal leadership role will define and elevate digital and social media strategy to drive measurable impact for our healthcare clients in an increasingly complex and regulated landscape. The role is hybrid and based out of our London office.
Responsibilities
- Set and lead the UK digital and social media vision, identifying opportunities to integrate cutting‑edge platforms, tools, and technologies.
- Act as a senior agency thought leader, representing Real Chemistry with confidence in senior client engagements, industry forums, and new business pursuits.
- Anticipate shifts in healthcare marketing, regulation, and platform behaviour, proactively positioning the team to lead in digital and social innovation.
- Drive the development of best‑in‑class social programmes and omnichannel campaigns that deliver cohesive, compliant experiences across touchpoints.
- Command high‑stakes meetings, clearly articulating strategy, recommendations, and innovative approaches to senior client stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to clients, helping them navigate business challenges, regulatory constraints, and evolving audience expectations.
- Partner closely with global and cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless collaboration and integrated delivery across geographies.
- Build, mentor, and inspire high‑performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, learning, and innovation.
- Identify and unlock growth opportunities within existing accounts, expanding Real Chemistry’s social, digital, and integrated offerings.
- Champion data‑driven decision‑making, leveraging analytics, insights, and performance data to optimise programmes and demonstrate impact.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, encouraging teams to stay current with platform changes, regulatory updates, and emerging best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in Medical Affairs/MedComms and pharmaceutical digital marketing, with a strong working knowledge of UK/EU regulatory frameworks (e.g., ABPI Code, MHRA, GDPR).
- Proven track record of developing and leading sophisticated digital and social media strategies, from global frameworks to local UK market execution.
- Strong experience shaping and presenting compelling strategic narratives for new business, organic growth, and executive‑level audiences.
- Expertise translating research, insights, and data into social strategies that support broader omnichannel planning.
- Deep understanding of paid and organic social performance measurement, optimisation, and reporting.
- Experience partnering with media, performance, and analytics teams to build robust measurement and learning agendas.
- High energy, adaptable leadership style suited to a dynamic, evolving agency environment.
- Exceptional presentation, facilitation, and storytelling skills—comfortable leading workshops and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong people leadership experience, including managing leaders, mentoring emerging talent, and building succession plans.
- Experience with forecasting, resourcing, and operational planning to support sustainable growth.
- Confidence providing strategic counsel and constructively challenging senior internal stakeholders when needed.
- A passion for shaping team and agency culture, with an emphasis on inclusion, development, and excellence.
