SEND Support Workers & Teaching Assistants – SEND Schools – Westminster

Based in Westminster. Full-time position.

We are currently looking for an experienced SEND Care Support Worker / Teaching Assistant who is a dedicated and passionate individual seeking a long‑term role within a SEND school setting. Our school caters to children and young people aged 5‑19 with varied SEND needs, including profound multiple learning difficulties, emotional and behavioural difficulties, severe learning difficulties, and speech and language communication difficulties.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with their learning, development, and care needs while at school.
  • Assist with personal care, feeding, moving, and handling where required.
  • Interact with pupils and staff using excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively within the school environment.
  • Maintain a valid DBS registration with the online update service, or be willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young adults with learning difficulties or disabilities.
  • Training in moving and handling.
  • Care‑based experience.
  • Valid DBS registration with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
  • Ability to complete Disclosure and Barring Service declarations as required by Section 115 of the Police Act 1997.
