This unique opportunity requires a varied and diverse skillset with an emphasis on Procurement; offering the opportunity to learn and develop with the dedicated team.

You will have exposure to a wide range of functions/disciplines within the company to build a network in order to deliver the contract. This role would suit someone who is confident, proactive, and comfortable challenging the status quo. You’ll need to be able to ask the right questions, influence stakeholders at all levels, and build strong working relationships, alongside having excellent data manipulation and analytical skills.

Internally titled Procurement Programmes Specialist, this is a role with significant responsibility and influence across the business.

This is a level 6 role on our Salary and Career Progression (S&CPF) framework.

What You Will Do

  • Be accountable to deliver promises made by the purchasing team with regards to budget, lead time and quality
  • Set up mechanisms to report progress on a monthly basis
  • Act as the conduit between buyers, programmes and other functions to ensure the buyers get what they need to place orders on time, and the functions receive all necessary information from Procurement
  • Hold responsibility for any new items required by the customer that need to be developed, managing the purse strings for that customer
  • Own one or more customer projects from cradle to grave as the Integrated Project Team (IPT) lead for Procurement
  • Manage elements of a programme, though not a programme manager
  • Act on behalf of buyers where needed, though not a buyer
  • Manipulate information across several software platforms to create reports, though not a data analyst
  • Serve as the main interface between purchasing and the rest of the company, working in person/on site as most effective, with flexible working available, including work from home

What You’ll Bring

  • Knowledge of the procurement process and ability to represent Procurement within an Integrated Project Team
  • Confident communicator with the ability to gather key information, challenge appropriately when needed, and build effective working relationships across all levels of the business through excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment, managing a demanding workload and prioritizing tasks effectively
  • Proactive and adaptable, with the willingness and capability to embrace new challenges and develop new skills with support
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel, with strong skills in PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas, and experience manipulating large data sets to produce accurate insights

Preferred but Not Required

  • Experience managing similar activities within a comparable sector
  • Knowledge of, or experience within, the aerospace industry
  • Familiarity with SAP systems and processes

This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, including eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
