We are looking for a Lead Solutions Engineer to support the continued growth of our UKI business. You will be the technical expert helping the UKI team with closing new business opportunities and consulting or selling to the most strategic prospects and accounts in the region.

Principal Solutions Engineers play a key role in thought leadership with prospects, asset creation based on domain expertise and market trends, serve as the voice of the GTM teams into the product organization, represent Freshworks at industry conferences and events, and are “hands‑on” to lead big‑deal conversations, help close large deals, and act as a mentor to the regional solution engineering organization.

As a Principal Solution Engineer you will utilize strong technical, business, and customer skills to provide deep technical consultation to prospects and customers to support sales and channel goals. You will articulate our value proposition, technology solutions, and offer thought leadership to both business and technical audiences. The role is ideal for someone with mid‑market and enterprise software pre‑sales experience in a SaaS or technology product organization and strong experience with ITSM/ITIL and cloud‑based infrastructure.

Role Profile

  • Thought Leadership – Think about problem statements that other SEs are not considering, conduct deep thinking, research market trends, experience analysis, competitive learning, and analyze analyst research.
  • Strong voice for GTM teams – Communicate product gaps, bugs, and enhancements to product teams to eliminate obstacles to effective solutioning.
  • Convert ideas into institutional IP – Create assets based on thought leadership, domain expertise, and market trends.
  • Lead large‑deal conversations – Engage with mid‑market and enterprise customers at mid‑to‑senior levels.
  • Mentor senior solution engineers – Provide technical strategies and approaches to solving customer problems.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships – Nurture long‑term partnership value with customers.
  • Team collaboration – Work closely with extended teams.
  • Drive technical win – Evangelize, enable, and engage with customers.
  • Pre‑sales participation – Technical sales presentations, proof‑of‑concept engagements, RFP/RFI responses, solution demonstrations, and technical workshops.
  • POC success – Scope and ensure the success of proof‑of‑concepts.
  • Partner collaboration – Work with partners to develop joint solutions.

Qualifications

  • Native level written and oral communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in technical solution engineering, preferably in ITIL/ITSM, SaaS, or software product environments.
  • Experience with ITSM/ITIL methodologies and cloud‑based infrastructure.
  • Excellent senior customer stakeholder (incl. CxOs) and internal communication skills.
  • Experience on complex sales cycles in mid‑market and enterprise segments.
  • Strong presentation, demonstration, listening, and customer‑oriented skills.
  • Highly driven, execution focused, strong sense of urgency.
  • Enjoys working in a high‑energy team environment.
