About the Role
Our Children’s Residential Service is looking for compassionate and motivated carers who are ready to support our young people. You will be there to provide care, stability and a homely environment.
What you will be doing
- As a Residential Care Officer, you will work directly with young people living in our residential homes, contributing to high-quality, individualised care and support.
- Undertake care assessments and contribute to development programs and care plans.
- Support the delivery of day-to-day care, following established policies, procedures, and safeguarding requirements.
- Promote dignity, respect, choice, and independence at all times.
- Work closely with families, carers, colleagues, and external professionals to help each young person progress.
- Plan and support admissions, discharges, and transitions to independent living or other placements.
- Maintain clear, accurate records and attend reviews, case conferences, and court where required.
- Help establish daily routines, encourage positive behaviour, and ensure young people’s safety and wellbeing.
- Dispensing and handling of medication in line with procedures.
- Handle petty cash in line with financial procedures.
