The role is 100% remote but requires UK residency. Warm leads are supplied and outreach is automated, allowing focus on personality‑driven business development and relationship building. Some travel and attendance at trade shows, broker road shows, etc. are required.
Role
You will manage a structured business development process, generating new M&A opportunities across the UK and Europe. You will liaise with entrepreneurs and business owners looking to grow or exit, providing advice and guidance throughout the sales process.
Reporting to the Head of Mergers & Acquisition, you will:
- Conduct industry and competitive research to identify software businesses that meet clear investment criteria.
- Engage with warm leads supplied by the company.
- Interact with business owners, entrepreneurs, CEOs, shareholders, and senior executives.
- Explain the potential acquisition opportunity.
- Guide owners through the company sales process.
- Develop and grow a deal pipeline through outbound sales efforts.
- Attend trade shows, broker road shows and other networking events.
- Develop a deal funnel.
- Maintain use of the Salesforce database.
- Work towards agreed targets of 15–20 appointments per quarter (commissions based on NDAs signed).
Job Qualifications
- At least 2 years of sales or business development experience (including cold calling).
- Degree‑educated.
- Fluent in English (other languages are an asset).
- Interest in finance and banking or software.
- Willingness to work 100% remotely.
