Position Overview
Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Medicine across Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) and Royal Hospital Children and Young People, Edinburgh, NHS Lothian.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior medical delivery of palliative care to infants, children and young people with life‑limiting and life‑threatening conditions within hospices, hospital and community settings.
- Deliver the national on‑call service and provide onsite care at NHS Lothian and Rachel House Children’s Hospice.
- Contribute to the strategic development of paediatric palliative care across Scotland, including delivery of education, training and research.
Qualifications
- Fully registered with the GMC, holding a licence to practice and on the specialist register.
- Or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent.
Key Information
Location: Rachel House, Kinross and Royal Hospital Children and Young People, Edinburgh.
Salary: NHS Scotland Consultant Pay Scale £111,430 – £148,064 plus option to continue NHS Scotland pension.
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time, 10PA (inclusive of 2PA for on‑call commitment).
